What difference can my money make?

These are examples of previously funded projects. Donations will be used to fund local initiatives of equal importance that reflect our 3 core pillars: Poverty to Possibility; All That Kids Can Be; and Healthy People, Strong Communities.

  • A donation of $25 can provide a full basket of fresh and nutritious food for a family to last a week.
  • A donation of $50 can provide an individual with food support and stable nutrition while they are searching for a job through a local employment agency.
  • A donation of $100 can provide youth with access to after school outreach support to connect them to health and wellness resources, food and hygiene supplies.
  • A donation of $500 can provide facilitation of suicide awareness training for service providers and community members to better support their peers.
  • A donation of $1,000 can provide reliable transportation options for unhoused individuals to travel from the shelter to appointments and work.

Benefits of Payroll Deduction

  • Your donation appears on your T4 slip, so you don’t have to keep track of a receipt, or multiple receipts if you consolidate your giving through payroll deduction
  • Helps the United Way CKL to keep their administration costs low
  • Allows donors to spread their gift over the entire year
  • Many people find they are able to increase their annual gift by setting a small amount aside each pay period or month
  • Donors working outside CKL or Haliburton County may designate back to this community
  • Gives donors the option of making a lump sum donation or regular contributions
  • You can change the amount of your donation at any time by contacting your payroll office
