Thank You to the Residents of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County!
On behalf of the United Way Team, a heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to make the 2014/15 Campaign the most successful one ever! Through your generosity we raised a total of $473,778.00 for our funded agencies and programs serving 1 in 3 residents in the area.
The Campaign Touchdown event, hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, was held March 31, 2015. UW CKL Executive Director Penny Barton Dyke spoke from the heart when she thanked the community, as did Campaign Co-Chair Robin Nisbet.
This year’s Volunteer of the Year award recipient was Barb Thomason who helped out in the office and at a number of fundraising events during the campaign.

Several cheque presentations were made by the Lindsay Tai Chi Club and the LCBO. Frank Geerlinks, Area Manager, presented a cheque on behalf of Home Hardware Lindsay, Home Design Centre Lindsay, and Home Building Centre Lindsay and announced their commitment to an ongoing partnership with UWCKL to alleviate food insecurity through the promotion of Community Gardens throughout the City.
