The United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes 2014-15 Campaign received an enormous boost towards their goal on Tuesday when Crayola Canada proudly presented them with a cheque from the 26th Annual Crayola Sale and Gift Basket Raffle which raised $39,882.10.
Shoppers braved the inclement weather and came out to find some incredible products at extremely reduced prices. “This year’s sale was very good,” says John DeBois, Finance Manager Crayola Canada. “We had an increase in shoppers over the two days looking for those great Crayola deals.”
“The generosity of Crayola Canada continues to help United Way commit to important work in the community,” says Penny Barton Dyke, Executive Director United Way CKL. “Crayola and its employees continue to be remarkable leaders. We feel very privileged to have such ongoing support from them and the Lindsay Agricultural Society. This year we saw shoppers from across Ontario, many of them attending the event for the first time. It was a great success!”
The Lindsay Agricultural Society has also been a great supporter of the sale for many years now, generously donating the use of the Lindsay Exhibition Fairgrounds. The sale would not have been able to develop into what is today without their support.
Crayola Canada in Lindsay has a long, proud and generous history of giving to the United Way. To date, Crayola Canada has contributed more than $850,000 through the sale and active workplace campaigns. This year to date they have raised an additional $3,081.00 through payroll deductions and in house fundraising to bring their total campaign contribution to $42,963.10. They have been a major asset to the United Way campaigns and help support the vital programs accessed by one in three residents throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes.
